Meet the Board
The Revolution Academy Board of Directors is committed to giving parents and students in the Piedmont Triad a high quality educational option. With experience in charter schools, governance, law, finance, and education, the RA Board is well situated to open and operate an excellent NC charter school.
John Nosek
Chairman
John is a residential Realtor, and business owner in Greensboro. upon graduating from the Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina, John served as an officer in the Marine Corps. After his service, John moved back to Greensboro to enter into the industrial sales world. After a number of years traveling, John changed careers to allow him to start a family. Education is very important to John and his family and choice in schooling is critical to student success.
Jon Kreider
Vice Chairman
Jonathan Kreider is an attorney who owns his own practice, Kreider Law, in Greensboro. Jon is a former District Court Judge having twice been appointed by theGovernor to serve on the bench. He is a graduate of Wake Forest University School of Law and practices in the areas of family law and civil litigation. Jon has a passion for child-focused education and empowering great teachers. He and his wife, Kathryn, and twin sons live in Greensboro.
Jon Hardister
Ex-Officio Board Member
First elected to the North Carolina House of Representatives in 2012, Hardister now serves as NC House Majority Whip. He currently serves on several House committees including ABC, Appropriations, Banking, Education, Elections, Judiciary, and Transportation. He is also the Vice President for Marketing of First Carolina Mortgage.
Lisa Walker
Treasurer
Lisa has taught high school English in both the traditional and virtual classroom for 9 years. She completed her undergraduate degree in Communications at Elon University and her Master’s of Science at NC A&T State University in Adult Education. Currently, Lisa is a stay-at-home mother to three daughters and has served in various volunteer leadership roles with the Parent/ Teacher Organization (PTO) at her children’s school. She remains deeply committed to education and firmly believes that school choice plays an integral role in student success and overall achievement.
Houston Core
Board Member
Houston serves as the Executive Director of Freedom House and is also a small business owner and attorney. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and Marketing from Appalachian State University before attending Samford University’s Cumberland School of Law and Brock School of Business in Birmingham, Alabama, where he obtained his Juris Doctorate and Master of Business Administration degrees. Upon returning to his hometown of Greensboro, he commenced his legal practice and business operations, as well as his leadership at Freedom House. His legal practice specializes in business and non-profit law, estate planning, and contract law. Houston and his wife, Sara, have three children, two of whom are students at Revolution Academy. He looks forward to contributing to the ongoing growth and success of Revolution Academy and its vibrant community for years to come.
Jon Brewer
Board Member, parent representative
Jon grew up in the Greensboro area where he now lives with his wife, Megan, and four children. His three oldest children will start at Revolution Academy in the fall. He has attended Guilford Technical Community College and West Virginia University. He works in senior management at a local small business, Structural Steel. He has served our community in many different ways with different roles in public service including private security work. He currently volunteers during his free time with North Carolina Project Life Saver. Jon believes that education is the foundation for a bright future. He recognizes that having a choice about which type of school best fits a family will guarantee long term success.
Yolanda Robinson
Board Member
Yolanda Robinson is a native of North Carolina; she was born and raised in Randolph county. She is a proud graduate of the University of North Carolina Greensboro (Go Spartans!) where she earned both a bachelors and masters degree in accounting. She currently owns and operates a nonprofit organization that helps to ensure that children and adults receive healthy and nutritious meals across the state of North Carolina.
Yolanda has been married for 33 years and is blessed to have two children, and two grandchildren. Yolanda wants to champion the issues that are important to families and are also close to her heart; one being education.
David Crockett
Board Member
David Crockett is the current Owner/Operator of Chick-fil-A Guilford College on the west side of Greensboro. David has been with Chick-fil-A for over 5 years and has been the owner of Chick-fil-A Guilford College since April 2021. Prior to a career in Chick-fil-A, David was the Associate Head Principal of Wando High School in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. David’s career in education began through coaching college football at Averett University in Danville, VA and The Citadel in Charleston, SC. David spent six years teaching and coaching at the high school level in Locust Grove, GA and Mt. Pleasant, SC before spending over four years as an Assistant Principal at Wando High School. David has a Bachelors in Accounting and Supply Chain Management from Lehigh University along with a Masters Degree in Education from Averett University and a Masters in Education Administration and Leadership from the American College of Education. David and his wife, Amy, reside in Summerfield, NC with their daughter, Annistyn Kate.
Board Meetings
The Board of Directors holds regular monthly meetings on the third Thursday of each month. Meetings are open to the public and include a time for public comments. Unless otherwise noted, meetings will take place at 6:30 pm at 3800 Oak Ridge Rd. in Summerfield.
