Mary Catherine Sauer
Mary Catherine Sauer has been a Tutor, Academic Advisor, and PTO/PTA president. She founded Cornerstone Charter Academy: CFA, a K-12 charter school serving over 1300 students, in 2012. In 2015 she founded Piedmont Classical High School, a Guilford County charter high school with 430 students, where she served as Interim Principal and then Director of Development.
Michele has 24 years of classroom experience in grades K-8. She graduated from Abilene Christian University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education in 1994, with a specialization in reading. She is currently teaching 6th grade history at a local charter school where she has been recognized as Teacher of the Year. Michele has served on the School Improvement Team, Facilities Committee, Teacher Mentoring Program, and has coached several middle school and high school athletic teams.
Jaime has 17 years of teaching experience in grades K-5. She has earned bachelor’s degrees in elementary education and sociology from UNCG and a master’s degree in education from Elon University. Jaime has served on many school committees over the years and has taken on leadership roles including grades level chair, School Improvement Team representative, and Student Staff Support representative. She has served as a mentor to new ILT’s and a cooperating teacher to several student teachers over the years.
Robin graduated from the University of Florida with a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and has over 28 years of business experience across several industries including education. She has worked in internal audit, IT, sales, and marketing. She has many years of experience in a private school setting where she has served in roles from administration to substitute teaching in subjects including religion, math, science, language arts, PE, music, art, and Spanish.
Ann Miller has served as a charter school advocate and volunteer for many years. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Western Governors University.
Joy graduated from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington with a degree in elementary education. She has 12 years of teaching experience from Pre-School through 7th grade in both Illinois and North Carolina. During her time as a teacher she has served on a School Improvement Team, Teacher Morale Committee, as a lead teacher, and as a Curriculum Coach. She was also a presenter at the Charter School Convention in Chicago, Illinois.
Lauren has taught for 8 years using the Core Knowledge curriculum. She has a bachelor’s degree in elementary education from UNCG and has served on the first response team, the School Support Team, and the School Leadership Team. She has mentored high school teacher cadets and is a cheerleading coach with experience coaching middle school, high school, and cheer-abilities.
Susan has a bachelor’s degree in organizational communications and a master’s degree in education, both from UNCG. She has twenty years of experience teaching students in a variety of age levels ranging from preschool to fifth grade. She has worked in both private classical and public schools.
Abigail has her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from High Point University and has taught kindergarten for the last three years.
1st Grade Teacher
Tammy holds a Bachelor of Community Studies degree from Cape Breton University and a Bachelor of University Studies degree with a concentration in education from the University of Maine at Fort Kent. She has 17 years of experience teaching 1st, 2nd, and 4th grades.
1st Grade Teacher
Alana graduated from UNCG with a bachelor’s degree in K-6 elementary education, with a concentration in English. She has 6 years of experience teaching both kindergarten and first grade in district and charter schools. She has also coached cheerleading and assisted other athletic clubs.
2nd Grade Teacher
Brittany graduated from Messiah College in 2018 with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education and special education. Since her graduation, Brittany has been teaching 1st grade in Maryland.
3rd Grade Teacher
Rainelle graduated from Hollins College with a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications and certification in Elementary Education K-6. She has over 20 years of classroom experience guiding diverse groups of students in social and academic endeavors. Rainelle has mentored numerous student teachers, served as a parent liaison for academically gifted and special needs children, and collaborated on many school-based leadership committees.
4th Grade Teacher
Karen graduated from Queens University in Charlotte with a degree in elementary education. She has 15 years of teaching experience in kindergarten, first, and fourth grades in both Georgia and North Carolina. During her time as a teacher she has served on School Improvement Teams, school safety committees, school spirit teams, and has been a liaison for the staff to PTA.
4th Grade Teacher
MaryAnn graduated from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro with a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. She has taught 4th grade for the past four years while serving on her school’s Intervention Support Team.
5th Grade Teacher
Alex has 14 years of teaching experience in grades 3-5. He has a master’s degree in elementary education and is experienced with Core Knowledge, Shurley Grammar, and Saxon Math. He is a veteran of Operation Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan and serves as a Captain in the United States Navy Reserve with 27 years of combined active and reserve service. Alex is also an enthusiastic middle and high school soccer coach.
5th Grade Teacher
Sharon graduated from High Point University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology, earned her teaching license from Greensboro College, and is certified to teach English as a Second Language, as well as K-12 Special Education, General Curriculum. Prior to returning to Greensboro this past year, she worked for eight years with the Charlotte Mecklenburg School System. She is a veteran of the U.S. Air Force National Guard training both stateside and in Egypt during the Gulf War.
6th Grade History/Science Teacher
Christina comes to RA with 13 years of experience teaching grades K-12. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Western Kentucky University and has served on school leadership teams, emergency response teams, and as a teacher mentor.
6th Grade Language Arts Teacher
Ashlee graduated from Georgia State University with a Bachelor’s degree in English. She has been in education since 2016 and has taught on both the middle and high school level. Ashlee is also a published author and award-winning spoken word artist.
Rachel has a bachelor’s degree in music education from Butler University and a master’s degree from UNCG. She has taught music to students in grades pre-K through 12 and her principal instrument is the trumpet. Her most recent teaching experience includes two years living and teaching abroad at an international school in Lund, Sweden.
Tyler Goodwin graduated from UNCG with a bachelor’s degree in entrepreneurship and a minor in theater. He has worked for the past 10 years in the banking industry and has served as a mentor with 1-2-1 Mentoring for the past 5 years.
Austin recently graduated from Appalachian State University with a bachelor’s degree in K-12 Health & Physical Education. He received the Health & PE Academic Award for 2018-2019 as well as the SHAPE Major of the Year award for 2019-2020. He has worked as an interim adapted PE teacher and an assistant EC teacher.
Exceptional Children Coordinator
Jen graduated from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina with a degree in Psychology. She spent several years in the Information Technology field working as a trainer, manager, and software developer before completing a special education teaching program at UNC-Greensboro and receiving her K-12 certification in special education. During her time as an EC teacher, she has tutored students after school in reading and math, served on an Autism Awareness committee and Mindset committee, and led Chess and Lego clubs.
Exceptional Children Teacher
Paige has her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and will receive her master’s degree in Special Education with certificates in Reading and Autism Spectrum Disorder in May from Appalachian State University. While in graduate school, Paige worked at the campus’ Office of Disability Resources. She has experience with Pre-K to 6th grade in both general and special education.
Beth has taught Latin in private schools for 15 years at both the elementary and middle school levels. She also has experience tutoring students from 2nd through 9th grades in multiple subject areas. Beth will be available during and after school for Revolution Academy students who need extra help.
