Revolution Academy is a public, tuition-free charter school that opened in August 2020.  We are located at 3800 Oak Ridge Rd. in Summerfield.


What is a charter school?

Charter schools are public schools which are given some freedom in the areas of governance, finance, educational programming, and personnel.  In exchange for the flexibility that charter schools are granted, they undergo increased scrutiny and accountability including annual independent audits and oversight from the Office of Charter Schools.  Charter schools who are not meeting expectations may be closed.


Will Revolution Academy students have to take EOGs?

Yes, public charter school students have to take all of the state-mandated tests that district school students take.  At Revolution Academy, students will also take the NWEA MAP computer adaptive assessments two or three times per year.


What is the tuition?

Revolution Academy is a tuition-free public charter school.


When will applications be available?

Applications for enrollment for the 2021-2022 school year will be available on the website starting in September 2021.  The open enrollment period will end on January 31, 2022.  All applications received during the open enrollment period will be eligible for the lottery and will have an equal chance of acceptance.  Applications received after the open enrollment period ends will be put at the end of the waiting list.

Will there be athletics?

Yes, we have joined the Central Carolina Conference for middle school athletics. We will field teams starting in the fall of 2021. Athletic questions may be directed to our athletic director, Austin Rozier, at [email protected].
